One laundry ball will give you 30 - 60 washes, plus one packet of refills for an additional 30-60 washes. Each ball is capable of washing loads of up to 3kg of washing. If you have a large machine, we recommend the use of two laundry balls.
Laundry balls are an innovative, simple and efficient way to drastically reduce your washing machine water usage and are greywater compatible. Greenclean laundry balls are made of recycled plastic and contain pellets that gradually dissolve. The ball can be refilled then used over and over again. These pellets do not contain detergent, soap, perfume, harsh chemicals, phosphorus, boron, ABS, LAS or SAS. They are hypo-allergenic and suitable for use with childrens' and babies' clothing. Washing machines perform a "deep rinse cycle" to remove the detergent residues from fabric fibres, otherwise they will dry stiffly and irritate the skin. Because the laundry balls do not contain detergent, there is no need for additional rinse cycles, the surfactants remove the dirt at the end of the wash cycle. Also because the refillable balls are light and compact, they take up very little room, are easy to transport and have minimal landfill impact.
